Where does success and literature meet?

Listen up blog,

Everyone has their own individual idea of success, created through experience. When I think of success, I think of passion, dedication, determination, critical thinking, contentment, goals, satisfaction, and fulfillment. Literature, because of the range of things it provides its readers, can be a tool used as a channel for one to achieve success.

One of the most important benefits received from literature is knowledge, which is essential to success as a whole. Literature allows you to experience different lives and time periods through characters that one can use as a guide. According to the video, "Books are our true friends, always to hand, never too busy, giving us unvarnished accounts of what things are really like" (What is literature for?, 3:09–3:15). Through the characters lives, the success within their story can help mold and shape success in an individual's life.

It can evoke and bring out different feelings and emotions to help unlock what an individual truly defines success as and what means they will go to achieve it. In the video, "What is literature for?" there is an example of the idea of failure, which is a crucial part of life that sets one up for success, as no journey to achieving it is a walk in the park. Failure being a theme found commonly in literature proves it covers a range of tools that are valuable to helping individuals navigate life and the lessons that can be applied to it from literature to help an individual achieve success. Literature also gives us the opportunity to look at things from the perspective of others, getting different views depending on the context and situation presented in the body of literature. The large variety of benefits literature has to offer can help individuals explore all aspects of success.
