What's the right way to learn.
From my experience as a student I think the ideas that Friere is trying to convey have a lot of truth within them. When educators prioritize a critical understanding of reality over forcing students to just consume information and regurgitate it back out; they allow for students to flourish. Freire has a first hand account of what happens when students are not educated in good environments. Struggling form such a young age helped him succeed when educating students. Through his style of teaching he has not only better the learning style for his students but many students in modern day America.
At my former high school its mission statement was very clear to the student body. They intended on having more project based learning and getting the students more involved. So most of the learning I received was problem posing oriented. The Main example I have of this was my math teacher Mrs.Blash. Mrs.Blash always had us interacting with not only each other about the activities we were doing in class but also with her. She broke things down and made sure that each us understood it to a t. Through her teaching style I was able to learn that difficult subjects such as Calculus can be taught in more than just a typical lecture.
I believe that problem posing education empowers students to be confident in their skills while also motivate them to chase after a higher education.
